the gift of motherhood

Collaborative mural with Bill Clinton Centre for AIDS Research and Education for the Beautiful Struggle Project.

This painting depicts two mothers, one breastfeeding and the other bottle feeding their infants. The script, written in Telugu (predominant language of Andhra Pradesh, India) can be translated as: “Breastmilk is a gift from Mother to Child; If you are infected with HIV, giving this gift is impossible.” The concept for the mural was provided by Bill Clinton Centre for AIDS Research and Education (B’Care) in Hyderabad.  This organization applied to participate in an international mural campaign called “A Beautiful Struggle: The 1,000 Word Project.”
