This mural was designed as an extension of the original Ashanti Room mural from 2002, which we revitalized this summer as well.

This opportunity was provided by the Ashanti Room owners, who graciously allowed us to work on the space as we wished, as long as it was a continuation of the work created on the north-facing wall.

We primed the wall on September 10th with a hot red to get the party started. The design was comprised of sketches made from the various African sculptures inside the Ashanti Room.

As you can see below, we improvised on the shape and color to suit the flow and feel of the mural.
