The Checkered Threedom are a series that employ the checker-board format as a means to discuss the symbology associated with man, woman and devil. The same stencils appear in each piece, but their organization and their compound relations with other numerals and characters breed a complex web of dubious meanings associated with masculinity (check'em), femininity (check'er) and divinity (checked). Checked (III) represents the third dimension of the series: the neutered, nomadic, and nullified territory of l'ennui (Baudelaire?). Its symbols conform to the graphically disolate practices of the ego - the money grubbing, sex-driven, drug-ridden scandalous satire of life en attendant Godot (Beckett!) The silhouetted figure in the center is none other than shaitan himself, or... herself? six six six.... If you are really feeling this piece, please check out Yuko's work - her link is on the main page of JaInUs. She is the mastermind behind this work.
