Checkit I.

Acrylic on wood. 33" x 60". 2004.

The Checkered Threedom are a series that employ the checker-board format as a means to discuss the symbology associated with man, woman and devil. The same stencils appear in each piece, but their organization and their compound relations with other numerals and characters breed a complex web of dubious meanings associated with femininity (I), masculinity (II) and divinity (III).

Check'er out (I). Does she make you want to .. uh, fondle those private moments of your past when she dashed out the door before you could really tell her that all you wanted her to know was that you pretty much loved her even though you weren't exactly sure what love meant and really believed it was an overrated, overused, overstood and stupid word anyway that is only used in Bollywood flicks where romantic East Indians flock with sheep in Scandanavian prairies?

OK, then check'em insted.
